Halloween Is A Great Time of Year For Tricks

If you used this tip, please let us know.

The Halloween Touch Feely Table

Take small boxes with lids and cut a hole in the top for kids to fit there hands in. Don’t forget to line it with aluminum foil first.

Witch's Fingers

First box : Take five carrots and leave them out at room temperature for 3 days so they get wilted, do not peel them you want the ridges to look and feel like a finger. Next round off the edges at the end of the carrots and cut fingernails into them. Cut the carrots the same length as fingers, if not wilted enough put in microwave for 1-2 minutes to wilt some more, do not cook them they will fall apart.

After carving rub with a little olive oil and chill. These should be presented cold the idea is cold clammy witches fingers. Place them in the foil lined box.

Egor's Ears

Second Box: Take some large shittake mushrooms, remove the stems, you want to choose the ones that are the size of an ear and trim them to look like an ear. Make the hole and the lines of the ear with a paring knife. Next drop them into simmering water for 3 minutes just to wilt them and make them feel life like. Put them in a half a cup of oil. Place them in the foil lined box.

Mealy Worms

Third Box: Cut the roots off a bunch of leeks separate them, look for the longest ones you can find. Drop in boiling water for 30 seconds and run under cold water to stop the cooking. Drain and dry and place in the foil lined box with 1/2 cup of vegetable oil. Place in foil lined box.

Dried Bat Wings

Fourth Box: Go to the pet store and buy pig ears, drop them in boiling water long enough to soften them and cut them into the shape of bat wings. Remove from water and spray with oil and place in foil lined box.

Goblins Guts

Fifth Box: Cook 2 cups of macaroni for 6 minutes remove from the boiling water and run cold water over to stop the cooking. Take 2 cups hot water and add a slurry of 2 Tablespoons of cornstarch to 4 Tablespoons of cold water, mix the two together and with a whisk slowly drizzle into the hot water it will thicken immediately. Bring it to a boil for 1 minute to get the full thickening power of the starch. Remove from heat and bring to room temperature. Add pasta and thickened liquid to the foil lined box.

The children and adults love this table. Don't forget to label each item and at the end of the table have a paper towel handy. Enjoy the faces.
