Yield: 30 portions
Ingredients Amounts
Chocolate cookie crumbs 2 cup
Butter or margarine, melted 1/2 cup
Sugar 1/4 cup
   
Filling  
Coconut, flaked 2 cup
Milk, sweetened, condensed 1 can (14 oz.)
Almonds, chopped 1/2 cup
Chocolate chips, semisweet 1 cup
Chocolate chips, milk chocolate 1 cup
   
Method
  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. In medium bowl, combine crumbs, butter and sugar.
  3. Press evenly into ungreased 11 x 7 inch baking pan to form base. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool completely.
  4. In second medium mixing bowl, combine filling ingredients.
  5. Spread filling evenly over base. Bake for additional 18-20 minutes, or until edges are light golden brown. Filling will set as it cools. Cool completely.
  6. In 1 quart saucepan, melt chips over low heat, stirring constantly.
  7. Spread melted chips evenly over bars. Chill until set before cutting. Store in refrigerator.

Note: To melt chips in microwave, put in medium mixing bowl. Melt at 50% (medium) for 2 1/2 - 5 1/2 minutes, stirring after every minute. Continue with recipe as directed.
