Yield: Makes 4 servings
A super meal in a salad bowl.
 
Tools  
Measuring cups  
Measuring spoons  
1 large salad bowl  
Colander  
Paper towels  
   
Ingredients Amounts
Lettuce 1/2 head
Cherry tomatoes 12
Alfalfa or bean sprouts (if you like) 1/2 cup
Very thinly sliced, cooked chicken or turkey 1 2 1/2or 3-ounce package
Very thinly sliced, cooked ham 1 2 1/2or 3-ounce package
American or process Swiss cheese 6 slices
Cooked bacon pieces 2 tablespoons
French, Italian, or other salad dressing  
   
Method
  1. Rinse lettuce under cold running water. Separate the leaves. Place lettuce leaves on the paper towels to drain. Pat the lettuce leaves dry with more paper towels. Tear lettuce into bite size pieces and place in salad bowel.
  2. Rinse the cherry tomatoes under cold running water. Remove the green stems from tomatoes. Add to salad bowl.
  3. Put the alfalfa or bean sprouts in the colander. Rinse under cold running water. Place the sprouts on the paper towel and pat dry. Sprinkle the sprouts over the lettuce and tomatoes.
  4. Tear the chicken or turkey, ham and cheese into bite size pieces. Add them to the salad bowl. Sprinkle the salad with bacon pieces. To toss the salad, pick up the salad ingredients with your hands, reaching to the bottom of the bowl. Drop the ingredients back into the bowl. Repeat till everything is mixed well. Serve with your favorite salad dressing.
