Grocery List
Yield: Makes 3 sandwichs
For chicken salad sandwich, use a 5-ounce can of chunk-style chicken instead of tuna.

Tools
Measuring cups

Measuring spoon
1 medium mixing bowl
Colander
Can opener
Fork
Small spoon
Table knife

Ingredients Amounts
Tuna 1 6 1/2 or 7 1/2 -ounce can
Mayonnaise or salad dressing 1/4 cup
Sweet pickle or dill pickle relish 2 tablespoons
White or whole wheat bread 6 slices
Lettuce leaves

Method
  1. To make the filling, place the colander over the mixing bowl. Empty the tuna into the colander so the liquid drains into the mixing bowl. Throw away the liquid.
  2. Place the drained tuna into the mixing bowl. Using the fork, break the tuna into chunks. Stir in the mayonnaise or salad dressing and relish.
  3. For each sandwich, spoon about one third of the filling on one slice of bread. With the knife, spread the filling to the edges of the bread. Place pieces of the lettuce on the bread. Put another slice of break on top. Cut in half. Repeat for each sandwich.

Hot Tuna Sandwiches
Assemble the ingredients listed above, except for the lettuce and bread. Instead you will need 3 hamburger or hot dog buns and 3 slices of American cheese. Turn the oven to 350 degrees. Follow the above steps for combing the ingredients. Spoon one third of the filling on the bottom half of each bun. Place cheese on top of filling. Cover with bun tops. Wrap each sandwich in foil. Heat in oven for 15 minutes.
