| Onion, large, chopped |

| Beef, ground |

| Garlic, cloves |

| Tomato paste |

| Tomato, fresh, chopped |

| Pepper, green, chopped |

| White beef stock |
1 cup |
| Chili powder |
2 Tbsp. |
| Basil |
1/8 tsp. |
| Bay leaf |
1 ea. |
| Peppers, jalapeņo, diced |
2 ea. |
| Kidney beans |
3/4 cup |
| Cheddar cheese, grated |
1/4 lb |

| Method |
- In hot oil, brown onion.
- Add meat and garlic. Brown.
- Add rest of ingredients except kidney beans and cheese.
- Simmer, uncovered, for 1 1/2 hours.
- Add beans to pot and heat.
- Garnish with cheese and serve.
