| 1. On your paper plate, draw lines
(representing the feathers) fanning out from the center of the plate.
You can also use lines of glue & glitter to make fancier "feathers".
The lines should be in blues, greens, and purple. (If you use glue
& glitter, make sure you let your plate dry before moving to
the next step.
2. Dip your index finger in your choice of yellow or gold paint.
Make finger prints throughout the plate. Allow a few minutes to
dry. Using your pinky finger, make another (smaller) finger print
inside of the index fingerprint. Make these prints in dark blue/green
paint.
3. Set the plate aside to dry.
4. While your plate is drying, make the body of your peacock. On
a piece of thin cardboard (or cardstock paper), draw the shape of
a peanut (smaller on the top than the bottom). Make sure the body
of your peacock is shorter than the height of the paper plate. Paint
the body of the peacock a bright blue color. Allow to dry.
5. After the peacock body is dry, paint on black eyes (or use googly
eyes if you choose). Also paint on the beak, using white/gray paint.
6. For top feathers (on the peacocks head) glue one "pom-pom"
to the end of each pipe cleaner. Make as many top feathers as you
want for your peacock. Glue these top feathers to the back of the
peacock head.
7. Staple or Glue the the body of your peacock to your paper plate.
Make the bottom of the body flush with the bottom of the paper plate.
