Create a Mardi Gras Float
Please ask an adult for help with this project.

What You'll Need :

One shoe box, any size will work (find one that still has a lid)
Construction Paper/Wrapping Paper: Gold, Green, or Purple
Tape, Stapler, and Glue (a hot glue gun can be used if an adult will be helping)
Beads: Gold, Green, and Purple
Glitter
Paint
1 clean tin can (any size)
1 Doll to Ride the Float (preferably dressed in Mardi Gras style attire)

Making Your Float :

Make sure you have everything you need to make your float. Set up all the materials, allowing yourself plenty of room to work. (It might be a good idea to put down newspaper, to catch any glitter or glue that doesn't make it onto the float.)

Start by covering both the box and lid (keep them separate) with either Construction Paper or Wrapping paper. The inside of the box does not need to be covered, as it will not be seen. Attach the lid to one side of the box (using a stapler or hot glue with the help of an adult).

Paint the tin can whatever color you like to compliment your float. This will become the seat for your doll to ride on. Attach the tin can (upside down) to your float using regular or hot glue (if an adult is present).

Now your float is ready to decorate!! Add glitter, beads, and paint. Be creative and have fun!!
